Cabinet Refinishing β West Hollywood Condo
Cabinet PaintingWest Hollywood
Project Overview
The owners of a West Hollywood condo wanted to modernize a kitchen with dated honey-oak cabinetry without the cost or disruption of a full cabinet replacement. The project included refinishing all upper and lower cabinets in a two-tone scheme, plus new hardware throughout.
Cabinet Preparation
All doors and drawer fronts were removed, labeled by location, and taken off-site to a spray area. Years of kitchen grease film were degreased from every surface, boxes and frames were sanded and cleaned in place, and a bonding primer was applied to help paint adhere to the existing oak finish.
Spray Application
Doors and drawer fronts were sprayed with a cabinet-grade enamel in a controlled setting for a smooth, factory-style finish with no visible brush marks. Face frames and boxes were sprayed in place using the same product for a consistent look between fixed and removable components.
Before & After
Before: honey-oak cabinetry with visible grain and a dated finish throughout the kitchen. After: navy lower cabinets paired with a soft white upper cabinet finish, new brushed-brass hardware, and a smooth painted surface with no visible wood grain.
Customer Feedback
The homeowners were surprised by how close the sprayed finish came to a factory cabinet look, and said the two-tone scheme made the kitchen feel like a full remodel rather than a refinish.
