Interior Painting β Beverly Hills Estate
Interior PaintingBeverly Hills
Project Overview
This project covered a full interior repaint of a two-story estate south of Sunset Boulevard, including formal living and dining rooms, a great room with 14-foot ceilings, five bedrooms, and connecting hallways. The homeowners wanted to move away from a builder-grade off-white toward a warmer, custom Benjamin Moore palette while keeping ceilings and trim crisp and consistent throughout the home.
Challenges & Solutions
The great room's 14-foot ceilings required scaffolding rather than standard ladders, and the home's extensive crown molding and coffered ceiling detail meant trim work took roughly as long as the wall painting itself. We staged the project by floor so the family could continue living in the home throughout, and used low-odor paint in occupied bedrooms to minimize disruption.
Our Process
We started with a full walkthrough to map every wall, ceiling, and trim run, then protected floors and furniture room by room as we worked. Nail holes, minor drywall settling cracks, and a few areas of ceiling texture repair were addressed before priming. Two full coats of the selected colors were applied to walls, with a separate semi-gloss finish on all trim, doors, and the coffered ceiling detailing.
Before & After
Before: builder-grade flat white throughout, visible touch-up patches from prior repairs, and dated trim color that didn't match the wall tone. After: a cohesive warm neutral palette across the main living spaces, crisp white semi-gloss trim throughout, and a two-tone treatment in the great room that highlights the coffered ceiling detail.
Customer Feedback
The homeowners noted the difference the crown molding and ceiling detailing made once properly highlighted with contrasting trim paint, and appreciated that the crew worked cleanly enough that daily household routines were barely interrupted during the two-week project.
